Wine industry

Together with the brewing industry, it is a key industry in Spain.

It represents Spain’s third largest export after meat and olive oil and, worldwide, Spain is the third largest exporter of wine.

Wine is Spain’s image and is also a strategic sector in the fight against rural depopulation: there are 4,000 wineries spread throughout the towns of all the autonomous communities and wine tourism moves people from urban to rural areas throughout the year.

Hygiene from harvesting to bottling is key to avoid quality losses, since a high percentage of the wine’s spoilage could be avoided with proper cleaning.

CIP systems must take care of the cleaning and disinfection of tanks, pipes and packaging machines, where it is essential to eliminate tartrates and pigmentation, dissolve inorganic residues, prevent the proliferation of inappropriate aromas and avoid the proliferation of altering microorganisms with perfect disinfection.
