Fruits and vegetables
The fruit and vegetable preparation and preservation sector is the third most important sector of the agri-food industry in Spain and, together with Italy, represents more than 40% of the EU and 30% of European farmland, being the most important dynamizer of rural life.
It is a growing sector due to the healthy consumption habits that society is acquiring and that provides raw materials to the rest of the food industry of processed foods and prepared products.
Cleaning in this industry includes simple L&D processes in belts, sorters, chambers, surfaces, etc., and some more complex processes in factories producing processed products, such as fruit concentrates, where there may be CIP systems with tanks and pasteurizers, or in the production of canned food where there are also several washing machines, peeling machines, etc.
The regulations for export to Anglo-Saxon countries mainly, limit certain biocidal active ingredients such as QUAT’S for which induquim has a range of disinfectants based on tertiary amines.
